Lily Pirulli, 20, of Monroe, was killed, along with 31-year-old Adrian Miles, of Ansonia, during a crash around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, on River Road in Shelton, said the Shelton Police.
Pirulli, a graduate of Masuk High School, was the daughter of longtime Bridgeport Police Officer Mario Pirulli.
In a statement from both the city and police department, Bridgeport officials offered the officer, who has been with the department since 1993, their sympathies.
“We are all thinking of Officer PIrulli and sending him and his entire family, our thoughts and prayers. We cannot begin to imagine the heartache their family is experiencing from this tragic accident," the statement said. "The City of Bridgeport and the brothers and sisters of the Bridgeport Police Department are united in standing alongside our officer at this time and wish him strength and peace while we allow the Pirulli Family space and respect their time of grieving.”
Passengers Meghan Nealy, 26, of Ansonia, is currently listed in critical condition, and Rakiem Reid, 30, of Derby, was treated and released from the hospital, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash, Minqiang Chen, 42, of West Hartford, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
